Mycelium going from white to brown-green

Hi,

I am using the 1501 kit, and the mycelium was fully white on about half of the kit (other half not much mycelium), but now I am seeing the white mycelium turn into greenish-brown.

I think I was using too much light on it, but now I have started turning it off at night... (previously I left it a bit on a bit off, but mostly on)...

I also have a humidifier next to the kit to give it more humidity, as I am in a dry winter climate. Temp. is pretty much steady.

Is this normal?

Thanks!

Hi Partenza,

Green mold:

Looks like your enviromental values are ok. Try keeping

humidity between 90-100% and temp 69 - 79 F.

The green mold is very probably not good, however don't

throw the kit away yet. The green mold comes from a contamination

with a bacteria that is everywhere in the air. Sooner or later all

kits get infected. It's the same bacteria that causes bread to get

mouldy.

What you can do is cut out the green parts, and put the kit back up

again. Might be that it'll still work.

Best regards,

Sjamania
