Shrooms not growing

Hi everybody,

about 8 weeks ago, I ordered the Stropharia Cubensis Growing Kit (1501) from DeSjamaan. I was real careful, put the kit in the bag with gloves and followed the instructions to the letter. The spores were growing pretty well, soon the whole kit was covered in white mycelium. But the mushrooms didn't come up.



There were some tiny things, starting to grow but not suceeding. They just stayed at maybe a quarter inch and didn't grow further. After a while, a greenish mold started to grow in there and I had to throw the kit away... bad investment.



Does anyone have any idea what went wrong?

Sorry to hear that,



This is what could have went wrong,

Green mold:

Looks like your enviromental values are ok. Try keeping

humidity between 90-100% and temp 69 - 79 F.



The green mold is very probably not good, however don't

throw the kit away yet. The green mold comes from a contamination

with a bacteria that is everywhere in the air. Sooner or later all

kits get infected. It's the same bacteria that causes bread to get

mouldy.



What you can do is cut out the green parts, and put the kit back up

again. Might be that it'll still work.
