Description
Sceletium tortuosum, commonly known as kanna or kauwgoed which in Dutch means “something to chew”, is a succulent indigenous to South Africa. Mesembrine, one of the main alkaloids present in kanna, increases the activity of the serotonin already available in the brain. Kanna is a fast-acting, mood-lifter. Kanna extract can be consumed using a variety of different methods; it can be added to a joint, chewed, vaporised or used as a snuff. The effects are best described as mildly stimulating at first later followed by a spacey and relaxing buzz. In Kanna Happy Honey, the combination of kanna and valerian produces a chilled out, mellow and relaxing effect. Valerian is well-known for its calming and soothing properties.
