Description
Psilocybe cubensis Albino A is a creamy-white subtropical magic mushroom. Albino A, also known as AA, is not a true albino mushroom but a leucistic mutation with reduced pigmentation. Albino A mushrooms are medium to large in size. The fleshy stem is the same colour as the cap and the base is covered with white fuzz. Grow these beauties by exposing them to minimal amounts of light (not in complete darkness). The Psilocybe cubensis Albino A grow kit is completely colonised by mycelium awaiting the right fruiting conditions. You should expect your first flush within one to three weeks.

Psilocybe Cubensis 100% Mycelium Grow Kit Instructions

  1. Open the package carefully, don't use a knife, you could ruin the plastic bag. Do not touch the (white) air-filter on the plastic bag to avoid contamination.
  2. Take the lid off the container and place the grow kit inside the plastic bag with the open end of the bag facing up. Close the plastic bag by folding the top 3 cm down, and use the paper clip to keep it closed. The bag has a built-in air filter, so you do not have to worry about air circulation.
  3. Place the kit and plastic bag in an area with enough daylight but away from direct sunlight (not in total darkness).
  4. The optimal temperature is between 18 and 28 degrees Celsius (64.4 and 82.4 degrees Fahrenheit). Although mushrooms will grow at almost any temperature above 15 °C, 23 °C is the ideal temperature for an optimal harvest. Lower or higher temperatures may slightly delay the growth process. Temperatures above 35°C are harmful. Special mushroom heat mats are available for purchase if you don't live in (sub-)tropical areas. If you’re using a heat mat, switch it on for the first two days then switch it off.
  5. Rinse the lid under running water, dry and store it properly. You will need the lid again later.
  6. After one day, open the bag and spray the inside of the bag using a spray bottle filled with clean water. Do not spray directly onto the kit! Repeat this step every other day. Close the bag after each spraying.
  7. Stop spraying as soon as the first mushrooms become visible. Open the bag and leave it open from now on so the moisture can evaporate. Too much moisture is not good! If you’re using a heat mat switch it on once the mushrooms are visible. It will take approx. 1 to 2 weeks until the mushrooms are fully developed.
  8. Theoretically you can harvest the first flush just before the largest ones open their caps by twisting and pulling the stem, not by ripping or cutting. Since it may be illegal to do so in your country, we advise against this. Psilocybin mushrooms turn bluish or bluish green when they’re bruised. This is a normal bluing reaction to growing conditions or being handled.
  9. These grow kits produce several flushes. After the first harvest, remove the grow kit from the plastic bag. Fill the kit with clean, cold tap water. This process is known as cold shock. It breathes new life into the mycelium and ensures that enough moisture is present for the mushrooms to grow.
  10. Place the lid of the grow kit back onto the kit. Let the kit soak for 12 hours. Lift a corner of the lid and drain the excess water. From here you can follow the instructions starting from step 3. This process can be repeated several times.
  11. Don't give up too easily; patience is key! Mushrooms may still pop up after more than a month. As soon as the mycelium starts turning green or purplish (a sign of infection) throw the grow kit away.
  12. ENJOY!

FAQ - Psilocybe Cubensis 100% Grow Kit

A No, it needs light (but not direct sunlight).

Q How long will it take?
A It will take about 1 to 3 weeks before you can harvest the first flush.

Bottom Line
Psilocybe Cubensis 100% Mycelium Grow Kits need a stable temperature between 18 and 28 degrees Celsius (optimal temperature 23 °C) and a humid climate to grow. Optimal growth conditions also favour the growth of bacteria and mould that will contaminate the kit, which is why cleanliness is so important.

Warning
If psilocybe mushrooms are illegal in your country then do not harvest, but only use this kit for mycological research.
