What is activated carbon?
Activated charcoal, also called activated carbon or medicinal charcoal, is a special type of carbon usually made from coconut shells. What makes activated charcoal special is its structure. Low-volume pores increase the surface area, allowing for large-volume absorption of pollutants. It's widely used for purifying air, drinking water, and even medicinally for the treatment of poisoning or drug overdoses by absorbing toxins. Why are the filters clogging up?
When hot smoke comes in contact with cool activated carbon, the humidity levels inside the filter lead to clogging. Take smaller puffs to slow down heat up.
