Description
Guarana (Paullinia cupana), also known as Brazilian cocoa, has been used for centuries by Indian tribes in the Amazon region. The seeds of the woody vine are crushed and used to make a guarana paste, among other things. Guarana is well-known for its stimulating effects and has the highest caffeine content of all the caffeine- containing plants. Though mainly used as an energiser, guarana has a long history of use as an aphrodisiac. In traditional Amazonian medicine, the plant is used to aid fatigue, headaches, menstrual pain, and digestive problems.

Ingredients
Guarana contains caffeine and other methylxanthines. The two primary methylxanthines are theobromine and theophylline, which have similar yet slightly different effects and augment the effects of caffeine. Theophylline is present in smaller quantities than caffeine, is more toxic and less speedy, though it has a stronger effect on the heart rate and the lung’s airways. Theobromine is a considerably weaker (approx. 10 %) stimulant than caffeine and nearly devoid of toxicity.

Caffeine, much like the two related compounds theobromine and theophylline, helps stimulate the central nervous system, enhances alertness, contributes to stamina and physical endurance, and helps the body convert fat into energy, providing a steady supply of energy in times of mental and physical exertion. The effects of guarana are mild and pleasant without the adverse side effects related to caffeine, like the jitters, irritability or nervousness. Guarana contains a moderate amount of caffeine, approximately 5%, that along with the other compounds found in the plant helps provide a continuous stream of energy.

Take 1-4 tablets as desired with a glass of water
