What is Mitragyna javanica?
Mitragyna javanica is a close relative of Mytragyna speciosa, better known as Kratom. It shares many qualities with kratom, like appearance and an abundance of various alkaloids. Mitragyna javanica grows in the same area of the world (South East Asia) as its famous sibling, though it is less common in the wild. Unlike kratom, Mitragyna javanica does not contain mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragine. Kra Thum Na leaves contain the alkaloids mitrajavine and 3-isoajmalicine. Is Mitragyna javanica less potent than Mitragyna speciosa?
