A pure, 100% indica plant with an amazing reputation, Northern Lights’ origin can presumably be traced back to Afghanistan. Through the years, the original varieties were bred, inbred and hybridised. Her exact genetic heritage will most likely always remain a mystery, but without Northern Lights the cannabis world would have never seen the likes of Super Silver Haze and Shiva Skunk.
Feminised Traits
Feminised seeds are specifically bred to produce all female plants. Purchasing high-quality genetics from reputable seedbanks is highly recommended, this diminishes your chances of finding male or hermaphrodite plants among your crop. Feminised plants, contrary to autoflowers, depend on the photoperiod to flower. In the early growing stage feminised marijuana plants need 18 hours of daylight and 6 hours of darkness. The plants start the flowering period at the end of the summer (usually August) as the days become shorter and the amount of sunlight diminishes (12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness). Compared to autoflowering seeds, feminised seeds have the following advantages:

Growing Characteristics
For a pure indica, Northern Lights Feminised grows quite tall reaching heights you’d expect from a sativa. Her leaves also demonstrate sativa characteristics; they’re long and thin. Once she starts flowering her Afghan heritage is clearly visible. Bud production centres on the main stem closing up to produce one a massive central cola. Like a typical indica, the flowering time is short, Northern Lights will be ready for harvest after 7 to 8 weeks of flowering. She prefers mild, temperate climates. Expose her to plenty of bright light and she’ll grow into a tree.
