Instructions
Perform tests in a well lit and well-ventilated area.

1. Take a clear drinking glass and flip it upside down. Do not use a mirror or porcelain container. Place the glass on a white surface or white piece of paper.
2. Place a single drop of the Red-E-Meter Cocaine Quality Test onto the bottom of the glass.
3. Put a small amount of the sample onto the drop. A colour change occurs immediately; use a magnifying glass or microscope for a better view.
4. All the material that turns blue is cocaine. Any whitish or greyish materials (often with translucent crystals) are cutting agents. Cocaine flakes, rocks or powder, and basecoke, will turn blue and dissolve immediately. Cutting agents and other contaminants will either not dissolve or dissolve very slowly.
5. Dispose down the sink by washing the clear drinking glass with soap and water.

Evaluating the Sample
After a bit of practice, you’ll be able to perform this at home cocaine drug test and evaluate the quality of the sample. Keep in mind that the ratio between blue and non-blue material gives only an indication of the percentage. For example, if half of the sample turns blue, and the other half does not, the sample contains around 50% cocaine.

Side reactions and cuts
Common cuts like mannitol, sugar, ephedrine, caffeine, amphetamines, boric acid, aspirin and procaine do not turn blue. These common cutting agents will show their crystal form, whether needle shaped or irregular. Lidocaine will produce a greenish colour reaction with translucent flakes. If bubbles form, your sample is of inferior quality.
