Empty the grinder, freeze the parts for 30 to 60 minutes, then brush out the residue with a stiff brush. If you need to use a cleaner for stubborn build-up, choose one that is safe for the grinder. The wrong cleaner will strip the colour and finish off an anodized grinder. Don’t forget to fully dry before reassembling. Never soak wooden grinders in liquid, or the wood will swell. Instead, scrub the inside with a dry brush, wipe the outside, and clean the teeth with a slightly damp paper towel.

The kief catcher is the bottom chamber of a 4-part grinder. It collects potent, trichome-rich crystals (kief) while you grind. Sprinkle the crystals on your next bowl, joint or save up to make your own hash.

Use a 4-part grinder so the kief sifts into its own chamber as you grind. Scrape it out with a pollen scraper, or transfer larger amounts to a pollen press to compact it into small hash discs.

A 2-part grinder has only a lid and a teeth chamber, so ground herb stays mixed with the kief. A 4-part adds a collection chamber and a mesh screen with a kief catcher beneath, separating the trichome crystals.

Isopropyl works but dulls anodised finishes and strips colour over time. We recommend one of our bong cleaners instead. They cut through sticky resin and rinse completely clean with hot water.

A grinder card is a flat, credit-card-sized stainless-steel plate with sharp holes. Just rub your herb across it over a tray to grate it like cheese.

The right grind depends on your vaporizer's heating type, whether it is convection, conduction, or hybrid. Every vaporizer is different, always check your manual for the manufacturer's recommendation. As a general rule, convection vapes like the Volcano need a coarse, fluffy grind so hot air passes through freely. A 2-part aluminium grinder works perfectly for this.

A freeze-and-brush every two to three weeks keeps the teeth sharp and the threads turning smoothly. If you use your grinder every day, do a thorough cleaning every two to three months. If you use it less often, a deep clean twice a year is enough.
