Acapulco Gold is an award-winning (2010 High Times Cannabis Cup), sativa dominant hybrid based on the old school Central American strain. The original Acapulco Gold has a reputation for being one of the most potent, top quality strains out there. Barney’s Farm Acapulco Gold does not disappoint, she’s the next step in the evolution of the legendary golden strain.
Feminised Traits
Feminised seeds are specifically bred to produce all female plants. Purchasing high-quality genetics from reputable seedbanks is highly recommended, this diminishes your chances of finding male or hermaphrodite plants among your crop. Feminised plants, contrary to autoflowers, depend on the photoperiod to flower. In the early growing stage feminised marijuana plants need 18 hours of daylight and 6 hours of darkness. The plants start the flowering period at the end of the summer (usually August) as the days become shorter and the amount of sunlight diminishes (12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness). Compared to autoflowering seeds, feminised seeds have the following advantages:
- Plants are usually taller/more robust
- Higher yield
- Higher potency than autoflowering plants
- Possibility to extend the growing stage/develop mother plants
Fragrance & Flavour
Acapulco Gold has a sweet, fruity smell with hints of fresh earth. The strain’s golden nuggets taste similar to the way they smell, intensely fruity with spicy undertones.
Effects
Acapulco Gold’s long lasting, uplifting, clear-headed cerebral high will leave you feeling invigorated and euphoric. The effects are typical of a sativa strain putting an energetic spring in your step, but are balanced out by a calming and relaxing effect, so you can go about your day stress-free.
Growing Characteristics
Acapulco Gold flowers with beautiful, golden nuggets bespeckled with reddish brown calyx. Acapulco Gold performs best in hot and subtropical outdoor climates which makes sense considering her genealogy. This beauty is not a beginner strain but with care and attention will deliver her weight in gold.
