Autoflowering Traits
Most cannabis plants start to flower at the end of the summer as the days become shorter and the amount of sunlight diminishes. Autoflowering plants are not dependent on changing seasons and the daylight decrease. These plants prefer as much light as possible (12-18 or even 24 hours) in the early growing stages and enter the flowering stage automatically after a certain number of weeks, regardless of how much light they receive. This is due to their genetic makeup. Autoflowering plants are crossbred with the genes of Cannabis ruderalis, which by nature is the only member of the cannabis family that flowers automatically regardless of light hours. She grows fast in the first 5-7 weeks; in the flowering stage, buds that bulge to 30-50cm are common, especially in the care of an experienced hobby grower. She thrives on 20 hours of light daily and prefers to be as dry as possible at the end of the flowering phase. Yields between 450-600 g/m2 are possible, up to 700g/m2 for the expert hobby grower. Outdoors, she can stretch to 125 cm, but only if she receives enough bright sunlight daily. The highest-yielding phenotypes take 100 days to fully ripen. The experts at Dutch Passion recommend using large pots of at least 30L up to 50L and planting germinated Auto Critical Orange Punch seedlings directly into the pots.
