Hailing from the port town of Durban, this South African landrace strain is a sativa lover’s dream. In the ’70s, the classic Sativa strain Durban Poison was repeatedly inbred, with some unknown indica genetics joining the mix, growing tougher and hardier with each iteration. Durban Poison is beloved by growers and stoners alike for her potency and consistent XXL yields.

Feminised Traits
Feminised seeds are specifically bred to produce all female plants. Purchasing high-quality genetics from reputable seedbanks is highly recommended, this diminishes your chances of finding male or hermaphrodite plants among your crop. Feminised plants, contrary to autoflowers, depend on the photoperiod to flower. In the early growing stage feminised marijuana plants need 18 hours of daylight and 6 hours of darkness. The plants start the flowering period at the end of the summer (usually August) as the days become shorter and the amount of sunlight diminishes (12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness). Compared to autoflowering seeds, feminised seeds have the following advantages:

  1. Plants are usually taller/more robust
  2. Higher yield
  3. Higher potency than autoflowering plants
  4. Possibility to extend the growing stage/develop mother plants

Fragrance & Flavour
Durban Poison smells earthy, spicy and hazy. The flavour displays aniseed, liquorice and clove notes, with a hint of spices, and an unmistakable sativa haziness.

Effects
Like a typical sativa, Durban Poison Feminised provides an uplifting, energising high. The clear-headed high lasts for hours, lifting mood and filling you with creative energy.

Growing Characteristics
Durban Poison Feminised is suitable for growing indoors and outdoors. This sativa queen can thrive outdoors even in the windy and rainy weather conditions of Northern Europe. Her resinous buds have a high resistance to moulds and pests.

The unknown indica strain that became part of her genetics will show itself when the leaves come in. The leaves tend to be wide set, indica style, but Durban Poison Feminised’s growth pattern is all sativa.

Indoors Durban Poison Fem will be ready for harvest in 8 to 9 weeks. Outdoors she’ll max out at around 2-3 metres. Given enough root space, the feminised cannabis strain develops sturdy side branches that can bear her XXL yield of heavy, resinous, dark green buds. Take care not to overwater her.
