Barney’s Farm created this cup winning chunky hybrid (2009 High Times Cannabis Cup) by crossing Pineapple with Cheese and Skunk #1. The resulting feminised cannabis plant has many outstanding traits among which a high resistance to moulds and diseases. Pineapple Chunk is also available for purchase in an autoflowering variety.
Feminised Traits
Feminised seeds are specifically bred to produce all female plants. Purchasing high-quality genetics from reputable seedbanks is highly recommended, this diminishes your chances of finding male or hermaphrodite plants among your crop. Feminised plants, contrary to autoflowers, depend on the photoperiod to flower. In the early growing stage feminised marijuana plants need 18 hours of daylight and 6 hours of darkness. The plants start the flowering period at the end of the summer (usually August) as the days become shorter and the amount of sunlight diminishes (12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness). Compared to autoflowering seeds, feminised seeds have the following advantages:
- Plants are usually taller/more robust
- Higher yield
- Higher potency than autoflowering plants
- Possibility to extend the growing stage/develop mother plants
Fragrance & Flavour
Pineapple Chunk’s lineage is present in her unique and exotic aroma. The fragrance is earthy, skunky and cheesy with a whiff of pineapple. Keep in mind that Pineapple Chunk’s odour is incredibly pungent as she flowers. The inhale is smooth and mildly skunky with a hint of cheese and a strong, tasty afternote of sweet pineapple.
Effects
Due to the high THC and CBD content, toking on Pineapple Chunk can overwhelm beginners, especially in high doses. Initially, a gentle cerebral high lifts mood and inspires creativity but slowly a warm, numbing body buzz begins to take over promoting deep physical relaxation leaving you feeling drowsy, sluggish, and most of all content.
Growing Characteristics
Pineapple Chunk is a great strain for beginner cultivators, the feminised hybrid is stable and easy to grow. Pineapple Chunk Fem has a high resistance to mildew, moulds, and pests. This feminised strain rewards even a bit of effort with an abundant yield of potent, high quality, dense golden nuggets. Like a typical indica, Pineapple Chunk Feminised has a short flowering period.
