Description
Trichocereus spachianus also known as the White torch or Golden torch is a cactus native to Argentina. A columnar cactus lime-green in colour, up to 2 m in height and 6 cm in diameter, Trichocereus spachianus is ideally suited for growing in containers. Its many spines approximately 2 cm in length are golden yellow and fade to white as the cactus ages. Trichocereus spachianus is a night flowering species with large white flowers about 20 cm long and 15 cm in diameter, appearing in June and July. No mescaline has been detected in Trichocereus spachianus but this species is an excellent host plant for grafting. Grow your own Trichocereus spachianus from seed!
