What is Calea Zacatechichi?

Calea zacatechichi, also known as Calea ternifolia or “dream herb,” is an oneirogen used by indigenous peoples of Central America for thousands of years to enhance dreams and explore the subconscious. The Chontal Indians of Oaxaca use calea to see visions while dreaming, visions that convey meaningful messages or prophecies. Dried “Leaf of God” is used to brew a potent tea that induces lucid dreams, which the Chontal drink while smoking the dried leaf material, just before going to sleep.
