In the ’60s Dr Grinspoon set out to prove that cannabis was harmful. As he pored over his research, Dr Grinspoon realised there was no conclusive evidence supporting this idea and went on to become a prominent cannabis activist instead. The feminised strain Dr Grinspoon is a homage to researcher, activist and author, Dr Lester Grinspoon. Bred by Barney’s Farm from an heirloom strain, Dr Grinspoon is a pure, unadulterated sativa.

Feminised Traits
Feminised seeds are specifically bred to produce all female plants. Purchasing high-quality genetics from reputable seedbanks is highly recommended, this diminishes your chances of finding male plants among your purchased seeds. Feminised plants, contrary to autoflowers, depend on the photoperiod to flower. In the early growing stage feminised marijuana plants need 18 hours of daylight and 6 hours of darkness. The plants start the flowering period at the end of the summer (usually August) as the days become shorter and the amount of sunlight diminishes (12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness). Compared to autoflowering seeds, feminised seeds have the following advantages:

Growing Characteristics

Dr Grinspoon is not an easy plant to grow, this pure sativa strain requires a cannabis-specific green thumb for successful cultivation but the effort is well repaid in the end. When mature, the spherical, bead-shaped green and reddish buds are coated in sparkly crystal trichomes.
